Sock Nets for damage free handling of fish
Sock nets consists of a sleeve that can be partly or completely watertight. The front end has a handle that keeps it open for the fish to be scooped. The rear end is held closed until released appropriately for the fish to exit.
Sock nets are absolutely vital for the damage-free handling of large fish. We sell the imported, watertight ones. It may be more expensive that the cheaper net type, but it surely offers the ultimate in handling protection to your valuable collection.
The koi are kept dark and in water while being transferred. As used on koi farms in Japan.
Note: Net material gets damaged by overexposure to chlorine. In the case of a sock net it can lead to a costly spill if the material becomes weakened and tears. Rather use a quaternary ammonia compound like benzalkonium chloride (many trade names) or Vircon-S or Chloramine-T (Halamid).
